CONCLUSION:
Yes, it's true, the OPUS QUAD looks great, the touchscreen is finally capacitive and large... and that's about it 🤷♂️
Of course, the OPUS QUAD is an all-in-one stand-alone controller, although the adjective "more complete" can be omitted here.
For a quick test, I connected a 2.5" HDD formatted with a macOS file system (extended journaled).
To my astonishment, the OPUS QUAD was able to read the data carrier 👍
The tracks were not synchronized via rekordbox, so they were just mp3 files that I had copied to it (data backup).
And there we have the problem...
The BeatSync function does NOT work if the tracks have not been synchronized via rekordbox.
Manually setting the BPM number via the pitch slider was unsuccessful, as the tracks did not run in sync with the same number.
It is almost always necessary to use rekordbox in advance.
In addition, the Stem function is not supported natively... a big nuisance.
Serato DJ does not display the beat count for the loop length.
Finally, I found out that the crossfader is not interchangeable.
My conclusion:
The OPUS Quad is not worth the money, even after the price reduction.
You can't eat from a golden plate...
There are currently controllers from Pioneer DJ that are cheaper, offer far more functions and are of a higher quality (e.g. DDJ-FLX10, DDJ-REV7).
