There is nothing to complain about the varnish. Have only the tuners and the pickguard against an EMG - DG20

I bought the guitar for my son (12) as his first guitar. I had researched beginner guitars in advance and quickly came across squier!
Incredibly good instrument! I have guitars here that were over 10 times as expensive and not much better. Considering the price, of course!
But it plays really well and looks great! Maybe I'll treat myself to another tele for Christmas... 🤘
