Hagstrom Super Swede NewGen Electric Guitar in Fall Sky Gloss Including Case!
While popular classics usually remain unchanged, only truly creative minds dare to reinterpret them. The Super Swede, with its longer 25.5-inch (648 mm) scale, delivers a biting and focused tone with a defined low end. The higher string tension provides a clear, articulated tone that is well balanced and highly responsive. The Lundgren Design No. 2 pickup in the neck position and the No. 5 pickup in the bridge position have been carefully matched to offer a wide variety of tonal possibilities. Together they create a perfect balance of expression and presence that brings out the Super Swede’s natural unamplified tone.
H-Expander NewGen
All Hagstrom electric guitars and basses are equipped with the patented H-Expander truss rod. Introduced with the new Swede | Super Swede single cuts and paired with a 2-way design that allows even more precise adjustments, the NewGen H-Expander is ready for a modern generation of players while preserving Hagstrom’s reputation for offering one of the fastest necks in the guitar world. The H-Expander not only provides ultimate adjustability and stability, it also plays a crucial role in shaping Hagstrom’s unique sound. Longer sustain and a round attack are some of the tonal characteristics that particularly stand out.
Resinator Wood
Resinator wood is a pressure-laminated wood composite that offers a denser and more stable structure than standard woods. These properties prevent so-called "Dead Spots" or "Wolf Notes" that can occur with some conventional fretboard materials. Resinator wood delivers a similarly articulated tonal response to high-quality ebony without the unwanted side effects. Resinator gives the player a stable, clear tone full of overtones and detailed single-note projection. Like our H-Expander truss rod, Resinator wood is an essential part of the characteristic Hagstrom sound.
Hagstrom Locking Tuners
The Super Swede instruments are equipped with 19:1 ratio locking tuners based on Hagstrom’s own innovations, allowing highly precise tuning, fewer wraps around the tuning post and therefore faster string changes.
Sustain Block Tailpiece
Hagstrom’s unique Sustain Block tailpiece has been a distinctive feature of many of their solid-body models since 1978. The Hagstrom bridge transfers tone ideally into the body. It channels the string energy directly and broadly into the top and thus generates a rich tone with powerful sustain.
Nape-Tenon Neck/Body Joint
The connection between neck and body is an essential part of stringed instruments. With optimal design it enables a seamless flow of tone, sustain and resonance. Hagstrom developed an innovative neck-joint design called the "Nape-Tenon" that combines the proven tenon joint with an extremely contoured neck-body taper. It allows particularly easy access to the highest frets without compromising tone, vibration transfer or comfort.
Stainless Steel Fretwire
Although this construction process takes a bit more time and effort, Hagstrom firmly believes that shortcuts in manufacturing are not an option when only the best will do. Hence the use of stainless steel frets, which provide protection against corrosion and a long service life, as well as optimal intonation and playability.
