The Magic of the Gibson "Greeny"!
The 1959 Les Paul Standard, known as the "Greeny", is one of the most legendary instruments ever made, and its distinctive tone is as famous as the guitar itself. Millions of fans have heard its unique voice on stage or in the studio when it was played by the trio of famous owners: Fleetwood Mac guitarist Peter Green, Thin Lizzie guitarist Gary Moore and Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett.
Later this year Gibson USA will release a core model of the Greeny, giving even more players around the world the chance to personally experience some of the Greeny's magic. This guitar is built at our main factory in Nashville, Tennessee, and features a mahogany body and neck, an AAA flamed maple top and an Indian rosewood fretboard. Although it is not fitted with Murphy Lab aging, the reversed magnetic polarity of the Greenybucker neck pickup still lends this guitar authentic Greeny character.

Ask any guitar fan what the number 9 2208 stands for and they'll immediately know it's the Greeny. No other guitar has achieved as legendary a status as this magical 1959 Les Paul Standard. The Kirk Hammett "Greeny" 1959 Les Paul Standard Made 2 Order comes equipped with an Indian rosewood fretboard and Murphy Lab aging.
