The Gibson Les Paul Standard from 1959 is one of the most sought-after and valuable vintage guitars in the world. It was beloved by many renowned musicians, including Peter Green, Kirk Hammett and Joe Bonamassa. The 1959 Les Paul Standard is very similar to the subsequent 1960 model, but it has some differences—chiefly a slightly beefier 1959 Rounded Medium C neck profile, which many players prefer over the thinner SlimTaper profile of the 1960 Les Paul Standard models.

Now Epiphone is proud to present the Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue, a beautiful reproduction of those rare 1959 Les Paul Standard models. The Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue was crafted in collaboration with Gibson Custom and offers the vintage look and performance of a Les Paul at an affordable price.

All the classic features that made the 1959 Les Paul Standard famous are here, including a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon for increased stability and sustain, an authentic 1959 Rounded Medium C neck profile and a bound rosewood fingerboard. It also sports mother-of-pearl trapezoid fingerboard inlays, an aged Epiphone mother-of-pearl logo on the headstock and the "Les Paul Model" script in gold on the Gibson-style "Open Book" headstock. Even the side position markers match the size and historically correct placement of the 1959 vintage Les Paul Standard models.

The solid mahogany body carries a carved maple top covered with a beautiful AAA flamed maple veneer. The electronics are top-notch, featuring two USA Gibson Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, hand-wired with CTS pots, Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors and a Switchcraft pickup selector switch, plus a 1/4" output jack. The Vintage Gloss finish gives the guitar a vintage appearance without looking overly aged, and it's nicely complemented by the nickel hardware, including the Epiphone Deluxe "Single Ring" Keystone tuners.

A brown hardshell case with "Inspired by Gibson Custom" graphics and a pink plush lining is also included. This is the perfect Les Paul for players who love the vintage charm of the classic 1959 Les Paul Standard but don't want to mortgage or sell their house to afford one.
