The Classic Cantabile AS-851 - the perfect beginner or second instrument
The Classic Cantabile AS-851 is ideal for guitar beginners. With its 61 cm scale length, the instrument is perfectly suited to children and young people aged approximately 8-11. Of course, adult beginners will also appreciate how easy the AS-851 is to play.
Carefully selected materials - clean workmanship
Only carefully selected materials are used for AS-851 guitars. The laminated top and body produce a lovely, warm sound, while the neatly crafted bridge transfers the strings' vibrations in the finest detail, even with a gentle finger attack. The smooth-turning tuning machines also ensure excellent tuning stability.
A sound worth hearing!
For beginners in particular, it's important that learning is enjoyable. A guitar needs to be not only functional to support optimal learning, but also sound good. The AS-851 models deliver plenty of fun with their expressive sound and also make it easy to assess your own playing.
Classic looks
The AS-851 stands out with its light natural-finish top and dark-tinted body. The finely crafted rosette, attractive decorative tuning machines and understated headstock complete its overall look.
Which guitar size is right?
Scale length indicates the size of a guitar - or, more precisely, the length of the vibrating string between the nut and bridge. The standard scale length is 650 mm and corresponds to a 4/4 guitar. All other sizes are smaller and are therefore recommended for children and young people.
Our recommendations for the right scale length based on age and height:
| 1/4 size | Age 4 to 7 years | Height up to 110 cm | Scale length approx. 47-49 cm |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2 size | Age 5 to 9 years | Height 110 to 130 cm | Scale length approx. 53-55 cm |
| 3/4 size | Age 8 to 11 years | Height 120 to 140 cm | Scale length approx. 59-62 cm |
| 7/8 size | Age 10 to 13 years | Height 130 to 150 cm | Scale length approx. 62-63 cm |
| 4/4 size | Age approx. 14 and up | Height approx. 150 cm and up | Scale length approx. 63-65 cm |

The action is smooth, the neck is fretless and the string action is optimal.
The instrument also looks chic and motivates the "little guitar beginner".
I have been playing guitar myself for over 30 years and can warmly recommend this instrument.
A bad, stiff and difficult to play guitar is usually the reason why guitar students give up.
I would buy this instrument again ...

The Christmas surprise for my daughter has succeeded! Thank you very much!
However, when tuning the strings, we found that the G side cannot be tuned because the peg keeps loosening.
After the shutdown, we will bring the guitar over and have it "fixed",
I'm sure with the friendly and reliable service at Kirstein this shouldn't be a problem!
And then we can start with the online lessons at the Kirstein Music Institute!
My daughter is already looking forward to it!
With kind regards
and stay healthy!
