Replaceable Drum-Head for Your Iconic Cajón!
This íon pays homage to the Peruvian roots of the cajón, which began when people turned wooden boxes and containers upside down to imitate drums. It’s made from natural birch, allowing the Peruvian íon to blend optimally with your cajón’s front plate to ensure a balanced tone.
The Peruvian íon produces an impressively clear "pop" when struck. It is extremely sensitive and responds excellently even to the lightest touches. Keep in mind that this íon is the most sensitive in the range — a light contact is enough to achieve exceptional sound quality. Excessive force is not recommended.
Installation is simple: using the Allen key supplied with the Iconic cajón (usually found at the sound hole near the bottom), loosen the 8 screws and fit the íon accordingly. Then retighten the screws.
The head tension and thus the tone of the íon can be adjusted. Depending on how tightly the screws are fastened, the íon's tuning changes. Experiment with a quarter to half turn per screw to hear how the sound changes until you find the tone you like. Make sure the íon is not too loose.
