Yamaha THR5 V2 Guitar Amplifier - Return (Condition: Very Good)

Yamaha THR - It's Time to Rethink Your Sound Offstage!

Think about how long you've worked on your guitar tone. Think of the countless hours spent testing and experimenting until you finally found an expressive tone that perfectly suits your stage performance. Why settle for less once the gig is over?

The THR was developed from the ground up to lead the Third Amp Revolution — a new Yamaha concept designed specifically for guitarists who take their offstage sound seriously and don't always have access to an elaborate studio or stage setup. Whether you're warming up backstage for the next big gig, developing ideas with the band in a hotel, or just jamming around a campfire, the THR is the perfect amp for all offstage playing situations.

This series of five portable amp models delivers an authentic tube-amp sound, wonderfully realistic effects, and Hi-Fi stereo playback of backing tracks thanks to Yamaha's acclaimed Virtual Circuitry Technology. No place is too remote and no sonic idea too daring when you want to capture a creative moment. The Third Amp Revolution is sweeping the country — get swept along.

Your Sound, Everywhere

The exceptionally portable THR amps support both battery and mains operation, ensuring you sound great wherever you are. Each of the five THR amps has its own distinctive sound, feel, and tone, delivering fantastically natural sounds at the push of a button. From shimmering acoustic tones and singing leads, through crunchy power riffs to the ultimate heavy-metal onslaught, the THR series has you covered.

Yamaha Hi-Fi Technology

The THR series was developed in cooperation with Yamaha's award-winning Hi-Fi division with the goal of bringing genuine Hi-Fi sound to an innovative guitar amp. The exclusive, specially designed speaker enclosure is optimized for both instrument and audio playback, delivering equally astonishing sound for guitar and backing tracks.

New, Enhanced Stereo Technology

The THR series features Yamaha's new, enhanced stereo technology for an incredibly wide, full soundstage. Stereo tracks and studio reverbs gain a depth that seems impossible from such a small unit.

Dual Effect Section

THR amps feature two effect processors with natural, highly musical-sounding effects. One processor handles pedal-style modulation effects while the other provides studio-quality delay and reverb. Both effect processors can be edited extensively via the THR Editor software.

THR Editor

The THR Editor offers extensive computer-based editing capabilities for amps and effects. Compressor and noise-gate functions are also available. The THR Editor is available for download at https://download.yamaha.com.

USB Connection

For playback input, the THR provides both an analog AUX jack (e.g., to connect a smartphone) and a USB connection for a computer.

Cubase AI

THR comes with Cubase AI, Steinberg's professional music production software, for full-fledged recording and editing.

Tap: Metronome / Hold: Tuner

The tap function makes setting delay times simple. The built-in chromatic tuner is precise and reliable and features an easy-to-read display.

Battery or Mains Operation

Thanks to two-way power options, THR amps can be powered either from mains power (power adapter included) or by batteries.

THR Session

THR Session is an iOS app optimized for THR. You can slow songs down without quality loss, change the pitch, or loop sections of a song. That makes it easy to learn even the most complicated guitar parts.

You can even remove the original guitar from a backing track — as if you were playing a session with your dream band! This app is the perfect toolbox for today's guitarists — combined with a Yamaha THR amp it creates an unrivaled practice environment.

Virtual Tube Glow

The THR illumination is staged by simulating an orange tube glow behind the metal speaker grille.
