All-Tube Combo With 15 Watts RMS

The AC15 Custom delivers 15 Watts RMS into 16 Ohms and relies on a classic tube complement with 3 x 12AX7 in the preamp and 2 x EL84 in the power section. This combination creates the typical British VOX character with clear articulation, lively harmonics and musical breakup. Clean tones stay open and present, while crunch and overdrive respond directly to picking dynamics and guitar volume.

Celestion G12M Greenback Speaker

The AC15C1 variant is equipped with a 1 x 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speaker. The 16 Ohm speaker delivers warm mids, articulate highs and a powerful vintage character. The Greenback really shines on blues, classic rock, indie, alternative, garage rock and British-flavored pop. The speaker supports the compact 15 Watt combo with punchy response and an organic playing feel.

Normal Channel and Top Boost Channel

With Normal and Top Boost inputs, the VOX AC15 Custom offers two distinctive tonal paths. The Normal channel is great for direct, warm fundamentals with clear definition. The Top Boost channel expands the palette with the famous, bright VOX tone and separate bass and treble controls. That lets you dial in everything from transparent cleans to biting rhythm and lead tones.

Master Section for Precise Control

Master volume and master tone cut allow practical adjustment of overall level and treble behavior. The tone cut operates in the power amp section and shapes the sound differently than a conventional preamp EQ. That lets you fine-tune the amp without losing the core AC15 character. It's especially helpful when you want to match the amp to different guitars, pedals, rooms or volume levels.

Integrated Spring Reverb and Tremolo

For atmospheric sounds the AC15 Custom features a spring reverb and the classic VOX tremolo effect. The tremolo can be adjusted via speed and depth, ranging from subtle motion to pronounced vintage-style modulation. Reverb and tremolo can be switched using an optional VOX VFS2A footswitch. That makes the combo suitable for expressive live setups where you need to turn effects on or off quickly.

Connections for Flexible Setups

In addition to the two guitar inputs, the AC15 Custom offers a footswitch jack and external and extension speaker outputs. This allows you to replace the internal speaker or add an additional 16 Ohm cabinet. The combo remains compact while still providing enough connectivity for a range of stage and recording scenarios.
