The BOSS RC-202 gives club performers, electronic musicians, and beatboxers powerful looping features and multi-effects in a compact tabletop unit. The RC-202 offers two tracks, resembles the look and operation of the popular RC-505 Loop Station, and brings a host of new features.

Four "Input" and four "Track" effect blocks are available simultaneously. Loops can be saved in real time so your performance can continue seamlessly. The footswitch and MIDI functions have been greatly expanded to enable hands-free control for guitarists, keyboardists, and other musicians.

Two Stereo Tracks and 64 Phrase Memory Slots

The RC-202 provides two stereo loops with separate controls and animated status displays. Your loop creations can be stored and recalled at any time in the 64 phrase memory slots (spread across 8 handy banks). If a track "works," you can save it during playback — the audience won't notice. The same goes for recalling stored phrases: it's seamless and suitable even for complex arrangements.

Effects Galore

The RC-202 offers far more real-time manipulation options than other loopers. Four "Input" and four "Track" effect blocks are available, to which you can assign wonderfully weird, off-the-wall effects. During recording, "Input" effects like "P. Shift", "Lo-Fi", "Ring Mod" and others are ready to use. The "Track" blocks process playback signals with effects such as "Beat", "Filter", "Slicer", as well as DJ and sampler effects, allowing you to mangle phrases beyond recognition. Large, easy-to-grip knobs let you tweak many effect parameters in real time. If you prefer (or need to), you can turn blocks on and off with dedicated switches.

Performance Comes First

The RC-202's control panel offers numerous buttons and knobs that give your creativity a major boost. There's also a socket for two footswitches or an expression pedal. The looper is well equipped for MIDI and works seamlessly with a MIDI foot controller or a keyboard. MIDI synchronization with an RC-505, a second RC-202, a drum machine, or other devices is also possible.

Audio Connections and USB

The RC-202 features an XLR microphone input, mono/stereo instrument inputs, and a stereo AUX input. These inputs can be used simultaneously — so you can draw freely on all sources for your loops. When needed, a metronome signal can be sent to the headphones to keep you in time during performance. The USB port allows archiving loops in WAV format on a computer and loading new tracks or sound effects. The RC-202 can also act as a USB interface for audio and MIDI applications, making it easy to integrate into a laptop-based setup and your preferred software. Recording audio and MIDI synchronization go without saying.
