Three Compressors in One Pedal - Purely Analog!
The Crazy Tube Circuits Golden Ratio F (Phi) V2 is a versatile, fully analog compressor pedal that combines three independent compressor circuits in a compact housing. With FET, OTA, and OPTO modes, it offers a wide range of tonal colors and dynamic behaviors selectable via a toggle switch. Thanks to the blend control for parallel compression and the option to choose between 9 V and 18 V operating voltage, the pedal adapts flexibly to different playing styles and instruments.
Three Tonal Characters for Maximum Flexibility
FET Mode
A feedback detector with FET transistor provides fast response and adds a characteristic coloration to the signal. Ideal for a punchy, slightly saturated tone.
OTA Mode
A feedforward detector that effectively catches fast transients and is excellent for limiting applications. Delivers a direct, tight sound with pronounced punch.
OPTO Mode
A hand-selected photoresistor combined with a feedback detector creates an organic, musical compression with smooth attack and release characteristics. Can be set very transparently.
Precise Control Over Your Dynamics
With controls for threshold, ratio, attack, release, blend, and volume, the Phi V2 offers comprehensive adjustment options. Compression ratios range from 1:1 to 20:1, and attack times start at 1 ms (FET/OTA) or 3 ms (OPTO). A gain reduction LED indicates the compression intensity, so you always stay in control.
