Compact Orange sound, 20 watts and complete control!
The Orange Baby Terror is a powerful, fully analog guitar amp head with 20 watts of output, modern JFET solid-state technology and extensive tone-shaping options. A particularly compact member of the Orange Baby series, this micro amp head combines Orange's distinctive British sound with versatile features for practice, home recording, rehearsals and smaller live shows. A precise 3-band equalizer, an additional Presence control and the innovative Tubby switch deliver everything from warm, bright clean tones and classic crunch to punchy distortion. With its footswitchable second volume control, built-in effects loop and balanced XLR DI output, the Baby Terror offers professional features in an exceptionally portable lunchbox format. The included padded gig bag makes this compact guitar amp a practical travel companion.
20 watts of power with analog JFET solid-state technology
Inside the Orange Baby Terror is a fully analog solid-state amplifier circuit using JFET technology. It combines immediate response with the characteristic tonal behavior of classic Orange guitar amps. With 20 watts of output power, this compact electric guitar amp head has ample power for daily practice, band rehearsals and smaller stages. Use the Gain and Volume controls to tailor the balance between distortion and output level. Get transparent clean tones, dynamic crunch, biting overdrive and powerful rock distortion. The robust solid-state design requires no warm-up time and eliminates the need for regular power tube replacement.
3-band equalizer and Presence control for precise tones
The Orange Baby Terror offers extensive tone controls that go well beyond the features of many classic micro amps. Use the 3-band EQ to adjust bass, mids and treble independently and tailor your guitar tone to different instruments, speaker cabinets and musical styles. The additional Presence control shapes the upper frequencies for precise adjustment of brightness and cut. From warm vintage tones and mid-forward classic rock sounds to modern, aggressive guitar tones, this combination offers a wide range of possibilities. You can fine-tune the amp for both rhythmic accompaniment and expressive lead parts.
Tubby switch for more warmth and stronger bass
A distinctive feature of the Orange Baby Terror is its built-in Tubby switch. This practical feature boosts the low frequencies early in the signal path, adding volume, warmth and fullness, especially to clean and lightly overdriven sounds. Even restrained gain settings sound pleasantly rounded and powerful. With higher levels of distortion, you can turn off Tubby mode for tighter bass response and a more precise, focused sound. This straightforward switch lets you quickly adapt the amp's character to different playing styles and musical needs.
Footswitchable volume boost for expressive solos
The Baby Terror has two independently adjustable volume controls: Volume and FS Volume. Use an optional footswitch to switch between the two volume settings. This gives you an extra volume boost for guitar solos, for example, without changing your chosen Gain or EQ settings. The tonal character stays the same while you raise the volume for specific passages. This feature makes the compact single-channel amp especially versatile for live shows and rehearsals. The required footswitch is sold separately.
Built-in effects loop for external effects
The rear-panel FX Loop makes it easy to integrate the Orange Baby Terror into a modern guitar setup. Use the Send and Return connections to place external effects between the preamp and power amp. Delay, reverb and modulation effects particularly benefit from this position in the signal path, as they can be added after the preamp distortion. This keeps the effects clear and defined, even at higher gain settings. Whether you're using a small pedalboard or a more extensive effects setup, the built-in loop significantly expands this compact guitar amp's tonal possibilities.
Balanced XLR output for recording and studio use
For modern recording applications, the Orange Baby Terror has a balanced XLR line output. This lets you connect directly to a suitable audio interface, mixing console or recording system. The built-in Ground Lift switch can help reduce unwanted ground loops when connecting external audio equipment. Since the output provides the preamp signal without built-in speaker simulation, you can further shape the sound in a DAW using suitable cabinet impulse responses (IRs) or speaker simulations. This makes the Baby Terror suitable not only for traditional use with a guitar cabinet, but also for flexible digital recording workflows.
Speaker output for 8- or 16-ohm guitar cabinets
The Orange Baby Terror is a standalone amp head with no built-in speaker. Use the rear 6.35 mm speaker output to connect a compatible external guitar cabinet with an impedance of 8 or 16 ohms. The speaker cabinet must be rated for at least 20 watts. This lets you pair the compact amp with different compatible speaker cabinets and further shape its sound by choosing the speaker configuration. A speaker cabinet is not included.
Rugged lunchbox design with gig bag included
The Orange Baby Terror stands out with its distinctive lunchbox design, solid metal casing and the characteristic styling of British amp brand Orange. Measuring (W x H x D): 16.5 x 14 x 10 cm and weighing just 1.5 kg, this guitar amp head is easy to transport and fits effortlessly into compact music setups. The included padded gig bag protects the amp in transit and makes it easy to take to rehearsals, sessions and shows. The included power supply provides the required power. The Orange Baby Terror is a compelling choice for guitarists looking for a portable 20-watt guitar amp with analog sound, flexible tone controls, a practical solo boost and versatile recording connections.
