In my case one of the lamp arms is also very weak - doesn't hold the position at all. The other arm is a bit better, not much though.
You can plug it to the USB socket (which is v. nice), but then the cable is so short that's it's unfortunately almost useless (it's probably 50 cm or so).
The only nice part about this lamp is the light itself - has 3 different modes (cold white, warm white and mixed).
So all in all I will probably be returning it and will be looking for another brand.
