The book is very purposefully structured, at the beginning the author goes into how we anatomically form tones and which areas in which way influence the tone. After that it goes into the practical part in which the reader is then given sounds and tones to reproduce. Different vowels and other letters are practiced here and also the differences between the classical form and pop form are described. Small pictures show where teeth and tongue should be. Finally, there are various exercises with intervals such as minor second, second, minor third, major third, octave and so on. For each task there is a recording that you can/should use as a reference.

This is not teaching how to sing songs, but the basics of how to produce the right notes in the right way. After that, however, sight-singing should be much easier. As a supplement to regular lessons, I can personally recommend this book to anyone. If you are looking for literature that shows you how to sing your favorite song, you will not be happy here.
