With the WL-50, it’s never been easier to run your pedalboard cable-free. Based on new BOSS technology, the WL-50 delivers high-quality sound with simple plug-and-play operation, so you never have to deal with the hassles of traditional wireless systems again. The stompbox-format receiver fits seamlessly alongside your other pedals and offers a docking port for charging the transmitter and automatically setting up the optimal wireless connection. Additionally, a handy DC output is available to power more pedals on your board.

Extremely Fast BOSS Wireless Technology

After the powerful BOSS wireless technology debuted in the wireless Katana-Air guitar amplifier, the WL-50 now benefits from outstanding sound quality and a wide dynamic range. The system operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency band and automatically finds the optimal channel to ensure maximum stable audio transmission without dropouts. Thanks to the extremely low latency of only 2.3 ms, you won’t hear any timing delay while playing. Up to 14 BOSS wireless systems can be used simultaneously in one room, allowing multiple musicians to enjoy wireless freedom at the same time. (The actual number of simultaneously usable systems may vary depending on environmental conditions.)

More Than Just Another Pedal on Your Board

The WL-50 is slightly smaller than a standard BOSS compact pedal and can be powered the same way as your other pedals. This makes it quick and easy to integrate the WL-50 into your pedalboard setup. Ideally, place the WL-50 at the start of your signal chain and connect the receiver’s output to your first pedal. The receiver also features a conventional 6.3 mm jack input, so you can always fall back on a traditional guitar cable if needed.

Integrated Transmitter Dock

The WL-50 includes an integrated dock for charging the transmitter and establishing the wireless connection. The system’s slim profile remains even when the transmitter is docked. The total height then roughly matches that of a standard BOSS pedal.

Connect and Play

Once you’ve mounted the WL-50 on your board and the transmitter is charged, you’ll see that the wireless system is just as easy to use as a conventional guitar cable. Pair the transmitter with your receiver, wait about 10 seconds, then connect the transmitter to your instrument. That’s it! During docking, the WL-50 automatically handles the optimal wireless connection without any further settings needed.

Cable Simulation

The WL-50 includes two selectable cable simulations that reproduce the natural capacitive effect of a guitar cable with passive pickups. If you don’t need cable simulation, you can switch the effect to bypass—ideal for acoustic and electric guitars with built-in preamps or instruments with active pickups.

Power Distribution via the Pedal

Once the receiver is connected to power, it acts as a power distributor for additional pedals on your board. Using an optional daisy-chain cable, you can power multiple BOSS compact pedals in parallel.

Battery Operation for Mobile Gigs

For street gigs and other mobile performances, it’s usually easiest to power your pedals with batteries. The WL-50 receiver can run on two AA batteries for up to ten hours, letting you take your wireless setup anywhere! In battery mode, the transmitter cannot be charged via the receiver. But no worries—with a standard USB adapter (5 V / 500 mA or higher), commonly used for current smartphones and tablets, you can easily charge your transmitter on the go.
