Das AKG D5 S st ein dynamisches Gesangsmikrofon für Sänger und Moderatoren. Durch die supernierenförmige Richtcharakteristik ist es unempfindlich gegen Rückkopplungen. Auch auf lauten Bühnen hört man nur, was man hören will. Dank einer leichten Frequenzanhebung im Mitten- und Höhenbereich wird die Stimme deutlich und druckvoll wiedergegeben.
Einzigartig ist die von AKG patentierte Varimotion-Membran. Sie sorgt für einen ausgewogenen Klang und eine hervorragende Sprachverständlichkeit. Anders als bei normalen Mikrofonen ist die Membran unterschiedlich stark. Durch die dickere Mitte verträgt das Mikrofon einen sehr hohen Schalldruck. Der dünne Rand der Membran hingegen erzeugt druckvolle Bässe. Gesang und Sprache setzen sich so auch in einem dichten Mix optimal durch. Hand- und Kabelgeräusche werden durch die elastische Kapselhalterung effektiv verhindert.
Um störende Popp- und Atemgeräusche zu vermeiden, ist im Mikrofonkorb des AKG D5 S ein Windschutz integriert. Das Gehäuse des Mikrofons ist aus Metall und hat eine kratzfeste Lackierung. Dadurch ist es sehr widerstandsfähig und robust. Eine Mikrofonhalterung und ein Mikrofonständer sind im Lieferumfang enthalten.
