One-Piece Bell with New Engraving

The one-piece, hand-hammered bell of the 82Z alto saxophone delivers better response in the low tones, a robust sound, and a smooth transition from the low to the middle register. The elaborate new engraving gives the instrument an attractive appearance.

Pads with Metal Resonators

The metal resonators offer excellent response and a wider dynamic range. Both high and low registers react quickly and clearly, making fast passages easier to play.

AV1 Neck

The AV1 neck has the largest bore of all Yamaha Custom necks. It is very open and free, offering a wide dynamic spectrum and a robust tone with a wealth of overtones.

Improved Low B/C# Connection

The improved low B/C# connection with a longer lever ensures precise closing of the low C# key and a more secure response in the low tones.

Lighter Mount for Thumb Hook and Thumb Plate

The new lighter mounts for the thumb hook and plate provide the instrument with improved response and a more compact sound.

Adjustable Fork F Key

The adjustable fork F key allows the player to individually set the opening angle.
