Eine der vielen Storys über diese Gitarrenserie erzählt davon, wie Linda McCartney ihrem Mann Paul eine Ovation-Gitarre zu Weihnachten schenken wollte, weil dieser sie so großartig fand. Schlussendlich landete eine Ovation Legend unter dem Weihnachtsbaum... natürlich in der Linkshänder-Version.
Als Ovation die Legend-Serie entwickelte, waren sie auf der Suche nach einem besonderen Sound-Konzept, dass es den Gitarren erlaubt, in keinem Frequenzbereich an Energie zu verlieren. Volle Bässe, klare Höhen und starke Mitten.
Ein stimmiger Body - ein gestimmter Body
Wie bei allen Ovation-Gitarren, ist die handselektierte Holzdecke auf einer Lyrachord-Bowl aufgebracht. Da Lyrachord auf einer klar definierten Frequenz resoniert, konnte die Decke so designed werden, dass sie auf einer komplementären Frequenz schwingt. Das Ergebnis ist ein "gestimmter" Gitarrenkorpus, der einen vollen, weichen Sound produziert.
Ein A für ein X
Für die meisten hochwertigen Ovation-Gitarren werden zur Stabilisierung der Decke kreuzweise angebrachte Verstärkungsstreben, das sogenannte "X-Bracing", verwendet. Um die Schwingungsfähigkeit des Materials besser zu unterstützen, sind die Verstärkungen bei der Ovation Legend-Serie A-förmig entlang der Holzmaserung angebracht. Dieses "A-Bracing" verbessert die Resonanz im Mitten- und Bassbereich deutlich und trägt zu einem ausgewogenen Klang über alle Frequenzen bei.

After a few weeks with the Ovation, I can only say that the guitar is more than worth its price.
Ideal for players like me, who otherwise play mostly acoustic guitar, because the fingerboard is not as wide as usual for classical guitars. In addition, the string action is very comfortable, so rather flat.
I like the sound, is as I imagined.
My conclusion: I have no regrets, would buy the guitar again.
