The YAS/YTS-280 saxophones offer the perfect start, as they're specially designed for young beginners. They're relatively lightweight and feature an especially ergonomic shape, making them easy to hold and play.

As you'd expect from Yamaha, the intonation is spot-on and the tone is first-rate. Yamaha's design gives beginners optimal support and encourages both students' learning and creativity. The YAS/YTS-280 saxophones build on the popular 275 series but introduce a number of refinements, such as a more robust S-bow receiver and a new low B/C# connection for more precise setup.

New Reinforced S-Bow Receiver

The new S-bow receiver improves tone, delivers quick response and provides enhanced stability.

Improved Low B/C# Connection

The improved low B/C# connection, with a longer lever, helps close the low C# key, improves response in the low register and allows for consistently more precise adjustment.

Adjustable Thumb Hook

All Yamaha saxophones feature an adjustable thumb hook so you can set a comfortable hand position.

Tuner with Metronome

This versatile device is the perfect companion for virtually any instrument. Not only can you tune almost anything using the contact microphone and wide tuning range, but the built-in metronome keeps you in time. The calibratable tuner offers 5 tuning modes, a tone generator and a jack input for a contact microphone. The metronome features a wide tempo range from 30 to 260 bpm (pulses per minute), 9 time signatures and various rhythm subdivisions.

Saxophone Stand

The position of the middle support can be adjusted to fit the stand to your instrument. All supports are fitted with soft padding and the metal parts are powder-coated. The robust construction and space-saving design make the AS-2009 a practical, long-lasting companion at home, in the rehearsal room or on stage!
