The HS3 and HS4 continue the design philosophy and know-how of Yamaha's earlier studio monitors. No effort was spared to develop an optimal product. The result is carefully selected components such as a high-performance Class-D amplifier, a durable MDF cabinet, and woofers and soft-dome tweeters that deliver source-accurate sound despite their compact size.

They also feature the patented "Twisted Flare Port" technology, which reduces air turbulence in the bass-reflex port and thus delivers clear, precise bass. That's the secret behind the HS3 and HS4's excellent resolution, imaging and depth — offering a linear frequency response across the bands without coloring the original sound.

Optimal Sound Tuned to Your Environment

The sound produced by speakers is often influenced by the environment.

The rear panels of the HS3 and HS4 are equipped with ROOM CONTROL and HIGH TRIM functions, which let you make simple adjustments to achieve the ideal sound for any environment — for example reducing unnecessary, overly deep frequencies that often occur when speakers are placed close to a wall.

Inputs and Controls for Every Application

The rear of the HS3 and HS4 features combined XLR/TRS (combo) jacks, phono and stereo mini inputs, allowing connection to a wide range of professional and consumer devices such as computers, audio interfaces, mixers and electronic instruments. The most frequently used controls — power switch, volume knob and headphone jack — are conveniently located on the front.

Compact and Easy to Transport

The compact size of the HS3 and HS4 is made possible by the highly efficient Class-D amplifier. Using a single amplifier for two speakers allowed us to reduce overall weight and simplify cabling. Even in a small bedroom studio they take up little space and are easy to transport.
