In 1987, Yamaha launched the first digital mixer, the DMP7, ushering in a new era of mixers that packed more features into a more compact design than their analog counterparts. The DM3 series includes two models, the DM3 Standard and the DM3 – the first compact console fully compatible with Dante technology, enabling faster and easier multi-device setups. Both consoles feature a multilingual user interface configurable to suit users with different backgrounds and skill levels.

DAW Remote Streamlines Music Production
DM3 consoles integrate smoothly with digital audio workstations. DAW operations like volume control, playback, and stop can be managed via the console’s faders and buttons as physical controllers for seamless arranging. The DM3 supports a variety of DAW software suites and ships with Cubase AI – a streamlined yet powerful music production platform. Switching to DAW remote mode is a one-step process by pressing custom buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously.
A Comprehensive Package of Streaming Features
The DM3 series packs all the streaming essentials into a compact chassis. The units feature multiple USB ports that allow input of DM3 audio signals and direct transmission of the mixed audio to a computer running streaming software. With stereo and matrix options, the audio routing offers great freedom, enabling separate mixing for live and streaming use.
Additionally, the Dante-equipped DM3 is ideal both as a standalone unit and as part of a larger streaming system with multiple consoles. For example, using two DM3 units allows the engineer to use Dante-transmitted audio signals for on-site recording and streaming or to create two different mixes. The compact chassis makes it the perfect console for limited space or system expansion.
Precise Monitor Level Control
The DM3 series consoles allow monitor levels to be controlled via faders. Access is easy and intuitive, enabling smoother, more accurate mix checks. Use the fader function to assign monitor level control for more consistent, precise mixes, or use custom buttons to adjust volume separately by toggling the source.
Super Compact
Yamaha’s most compact Dante-compatible mixer, the DM3 delivers high-quality 96kHz sound with 16 analog inputs and eight outputs with low latency, perfectly pairing with the Tio1608-D I/O rack for simpler and faster system setup.
Recording Capabilities
Both DM3 models support multitrack recording via USB to Host, while simple 2-track recording is possible with a USB flash drive connected to the front USB port of both consoles. The Dante-enabled DM3 console also offers multitrack recording with the Dante Virtual Soundcard2.
