The TM-2 Trigger Module is a simple, efficient solution for drummers who want to expand their acoustic drum playing with electronic sounds. The unit features a very compact design and can optionally be battery-powered. Two trigger inputs allow you to connect either acoustic drum triggers and/or Roland pads (including Roland RT-series acoustic drum triggers, the BT-1 Bar Trigger Pad, and the KT-10 Kick Trigger Pedal).

The TM-2 includes internal sounds specifically tailored for playing with acoustic drums, plus professional multi-effects. Using an SDHC memory card installed in the unit, you can also play your own WAV-format sounds (sounds, effects, loops, and even songs) directly from the card via the drums/pads.

Easy Integration of Electronic Sounds Into Your Acoustic Drum Kit

The TM-2 has a compact, affordable design and mounts easily to a hi-hat stand or, with a standard clamp, to a drum rack. It can also be battery-powered when needed. The user interface is very clear, and assigning sounds to the trigger inputs is straightforward. Custom settings can be saved as different "kits" that are quickly recalled via large control buttons.

Trigger Inputs for Roland Pads and Acoustic Drum Triggers

The TM-2 features trigger inputs that let you connect two pads or two drum triggers at once. You can use almost any pad from the Roland V-Drums series, including dual-trigger pads. Ideal additions are the BT-1 Bar Trigger Pad, which has a curved shape and mounts to the rim of an acoustic drum, and the KT-10 Kick Trigger Pedal with its new, innovative compact design featuring an integrated beater and striking surface. The TM-2 is also compatible with Roland RT-series acoustic drum triggers, which can be mounted on bass drums, the snare, and the toms of an acoustic kit.

Professional drummers and sound engineers are always seeking the ideal drum sound. The TM-2 includes internal tones specifically designed to work with acoustic drums, making them perfect for augmenting or supporting mic'd acoustic drum sounds. In addition, the TM-2 offers electronic sounds for music styles that require modern tones. It also includes percussion sounds like cowbell, woodblock, wind chimes, and more, which can be triggered, for example, via a BT-1 Bar Trigger Pad mounted to a drum.

Playing Your Own Sounds From an SDHC Memory Card

You can also play your own sounds with the TM-2, such as drum and percussion hits, sound effects, loops, or even full songs. Simply copy the desired WAV audio files to the SDHC card, insert it into the TM-2, assign the desired sounds within a kit - and you're set! You can also apply the internal effects to your own sounds or combine them with the TM-2's internal tones.

Expanded Options Via the MIDI Interface

Using the MIDI connectors, you can integrate the TM-2 into your electronic drum and percussion setup. You can use it to trigger the sounds of a V-Drum module, keyboard, or synthesizer module and record pad-generated performance data as MIDI via music software. Conversely, you can play the TM-2's sounds — both the internal tones and the samples stored on the SDHC card — from an external MIDI instrument.
