Authentic Acoustic Piano Touch and Half-Pedaling Pedal Control

With an 88-key keyboard, the GHS keyboard (Graded Hammer Standard) reproduces the feel of an acoustic piano — naturally heavier in the lower keys and lighter in the high octaves. The GHS action delivers a grand-piano-like touch, enabling fast note repetition and authentic expressive control. In addition, there is a half-pedaling function that authentically reproduces a grand piano's damper response and gives rich expressive possibilities.

Reproduction of an Acoustic Piano's Resonance

Damper Resonance reproduces the wide, deep sonic field of an acoustic piano. It also reflects the tonal changes that occur when a grand piano's damper pedal is pressed. This includes sounds coming from the keybed and emulates the cumulative resonance that arises when all those sounds blend together.

The YDP-105 features an authentic grand piano voice plus additional built-in instrument voices such as electric piano, organ, vibraphone and strings — a total of 10 voices — and 10 famous built-in classical songs.

The YDP-105 is also compatible with Yamaha's free Smart Pianist app — simply download the app to your smart device and connect it to the instrument*.

The Smart Pianist app makes it easy to operate the instrument's various voice functions and to access a wide range of sheet music, including scores for the built-in songs. It also offers a powerful Piano Room function to change the tonal character and resonance settings of the piano sound, as well as a recording function.

The new volume limiter function lets you set a fixed maximum volume to protect your hearing from loud sounds through speakers or headphones.
