Extra Short-Scale Capri Electric Bass from Ashdown!
The Capri-23 is a compact, punchy mini bass with plenty of character. With its poplar body, roasted maple neck and the powerful PP Alnico pickup, it’s designed for tone and playability. A padded Ashdown gigbag is included.
Compact Size, Full-Fledged Playability
The Capri-23 combines a compact shape, modern design and full-bodied tone — perfect for players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re just starting out, downsizing or travelling light, the Capri-23 delivers impressive tone, feel and value in a sleek package.
Built to Play: Comfort, Control, and Craftsmanship
A 40-mm poplar body keeps weight down without sacrificing resonance, paired with a roasted maple neck and fretboard for stability and a smooth playing feel. The C-shaped neck, matte finish and 350 mm radius provide immediate comfort across all 20 frets.
The short 596 mm scale enhances comfort — ideal for younger players or long sessions — while stainless steel frets, black dot inlays and a double-action truss rod ensure durability and easy maintenance.
Tone, Style and Ready-to-Play Reliability
The PP Alnico pickup delivers a warm, clear and balanced tone across genres from indie to funk. With just one volume and one tone control, it’s truly ready to go straight out of the case.
Reliable hardware — a mini bass bridge with brass saddles, chrome-plated knobs and die-cast tuners — provides stable tuning and instant playability. Each Capri-23 ships with a padded gigbag.
