Yamaha Bb Clarinet - Co-Developed by Leading German Musicians!

The Oehler clarinets from Yamaha are high-quality, authentic instruments with the German fingering system. Several leading German musicians participated in the development of these beautiful woodwind instruments. The Yamaha clarinet YCL-457II-22 delivers excellent intonation and a wonderfully rich, powerful, full sound.

With 22 keys the Yamaha YCL-457II-22 is a fully featured clarinet for the advanced player. Beyond the features of the YCL-457II-20, it includes a left E-flat lever and the double F/C key on the upper joint, as well as a duodecim connection to the first ring to improve the high B/C# trill.

Technically Optimized for Better Playability

A notable technical change is the left F lever replacing the E-flat lever.

To simplify response especially in the middle and upper registers, the bore was slightly reduced and the register hole modified. For a better feel and easier covering the thumb hole was raised onto a flat plateau, from which the lever of the register key is also easier to reach.

An important improvement was made to the E-flat/B side key, whose tall cork often broke during assembly by beginners. It now features a metal foot for stability.

The coupling of the so-called "short" A key with the G# key improves the tone of A and B and facilitates the G#-A trill.

More Precise Fine Tuning

Instead of natural cork, synthetic cork is used for padding and fine adjustment of the mechanism; it is more durable and keeps the adjustment reliably stable for longer.

The new thumb rest is adjustable by 12 mm, has a sturdier base plate, a larger and more comfortable thumb pad, and a robust ring for the carrying cord.

Includes Mouthpiece and Case

The M3D mouthpiece for Bb clarinets responds very easily and is therefore ideal for beginners. It is made of phenolic resin. The high-quality mouthpiece is specially tuned to Oehler clarinets and their tonal characteristics. The clarinet is delivered in a lightweight case with adjustable backpack straps.

Tuner with Metronome

This versatile device is the perfect companion for virtually any instrument. Not only can almost any instrument be brought into tune using the contact microphone and the wide tuning range, but the built-in metronome also keeps everything at the right tempo. The calibratable tuner offers 5 tuning modes, a tone generator and a jack input for a contact microphone. The metronome has a wide tempo range from 30 to 260 beats per minute, 9 time signatures and various rhythm subdivisions.

Music Stand

This music stand features a tripod design for optimal stability. The legs are fitted with solid, non-slip rubber caps. The desk can be tilted and fixed with a locking screw. With an approximately 4 cm deep desk this music stand is also ideal for thick music books.
