The Oehler clarinets from Yamaha are high-quality, authentic instruments with a German fingering system. The YCL-457II-20 can accompany a student for many years because it offers all the essential features from the start that make a good beginning easy. At the same time, it is already a fully-fledged instrument for the advanced player.

Technically Optimized for Better Playability

A striking technical change is the F lever on the left instead of an E-flat lever.

To simplify response especially in the middle and high registers, the bore was slightly reduced and the register hole modified. For better grip and easier covering, the thumb hole was raised onto a flat plateau, from which the lever of the register key is also more ergonomically reachable.

An important improvement was made to the E-flat/B side key, whose high cork often broke during assembly by beginners. Now a metal foot provides stability.

The coupling of the so-called "short" A key with the G-sharp key improves the sound of the notes A and B and facilitates the G-sharp to A trill.

More Precise Fine Adjustment

Instead of natural cork, synthetic cork is used for padding and fine adjustment of the mechanism, which is more durable and keeps the adjustment reliably stable for longer.

The new thumb holder is adjustable by 12 mm, has a more stable base plate, a larger and more comfortable resting surface for the thumb, and a sturdy ring for the carrying strap.

Includes Mouthpiece and Case

The M3D mouthpiece for Bb clarinets responds very easily and is therefore also ideal for beginners. It is made of phenolic resin. The high-quality mouthpiece is specially tuned to Oehler clarinets and their tonal characteristics. The clarinet is delivered in a lightweight case with adjustable backpack harness.

Tuner with Metronome

This versatile device is the perfect companion for virtually any instrument. Not only can almost any instrument be tuned correctly with the contact microphone and wide tuning range, but the built-in metronome also keeps everything in the right tempo. The calibratable tuner offers 5 tuning modes, a tone generator, and a jack input with contact microphone. The metronome has a wide tempo range from 30 to 260 beats per minute, 9 time signatures, and various rhythm subdivisions.
