New Bell, "Blue" Steel Springs & Silver-Plated Keys

A new resonance chamber in the bell of the YCL-450 aids projection and improves intonation in the lower register.

Mid-range instruments should feel distinctly different from entry-level models. This is also achieved through better spring materials. Blue steel springs enable light, smooth, and at the same time fast key action.

The silver-plated keys not only enhance the appearance but also provide a wonderful playing feel. The so-called "power forging" technique gives the keys the necessary stability.

Straight, Sharply Undercut Tone Holes

Yamaha’s mid-range instruments stand out through the use of professional materials and features. Straight, sharply undercut tone holes ensure outstanding intonation and response, giving the YCL-450 the playability of a professional model.

The thumb rest is adjustable, has a sturdier base plate, a more comfortable thumb pad, and a solid ring for the neck strap.

This versatile device is the perfect companion for virtually any instrument. Not only can almost any instrument be tuned accurately using the contact microphone and wide tuning range, but the built-in metronome also keeps everything in the right tempo. The calibratable tuner offers 5 tuning modes, a tone generator, and a jack input with contact microphone. The metronome features a wide tempo range from 30 to 260 beats per minute, 9 time signatures, and various rhythm subdivisions.
