Professional Performance: Vandoren V12 Strength 2.5 in a 10-Pack!
The longer vamp means a larger portion of the reed vibrates, resulting in a deeper, fuller sound.
V-12 reeds for Bb clarinet are made from cane with the same diameter as alto saxophone reeds.
Therefore, they have a thicker heel and are cut on a longer vamp with a slightly thicker tip than the Traditional. The longer vamp means a larger portion of the reed vibrates, producing a deeper, fuller tone. The thicker tip provides a stronger attack and also increases the reed's durability.
