FlexMaxx Ligature

The AW Woodwinds FlexMaxx ligature mounts in seconds, increases sound volume, and—thanks to the improved vibration behavior of the reed—optimizes response and pitch stability. Depending on which position the ring-shaped FlexMaxx is mounted in, the saxophone tone changes. If the open, gridded side faces the reed (Position "Bright"), a brilliant, projecting sound unfolds that soloists often prefer. If the closed side faces the reed (Position "Focus"), you get a more homogeneous, warmer overall sound with added depth. Sonically, the ligature sits between fabric ligatures (less muffled) and metal ligatures (warmer and more balanced), making it highly versatile.
