leFreQue Free Reed Ligature, Size L!
The FREE REED ligature was developed following the same philosophy as the established and proven lefreQue sound bridges. Essentially, anything that clamps should be bridged or released from the clamp. This also applies to the reeds of the saxophone and clarinet.
All conventional ligatures exert a clamping effect on the reed. To position the reed on the mouthpiece—without clamping—the FREE REED ligature was created. This is the first ligature that does not clamp the reed and simultaneously does not dampen it where it is touched.
Since the ligature is flexible and adjustable, it was unnecessary to produce a separate ligature for each instrument and mouthpiece. This means lefreQue equips all saxophones and clarinets with the FREE REED ligature using only five different sizes.
