how quiet is this violin without amplifier?

You can compare the sound in this state with an unamplified electric guitar. You hear a soft, muffled sound from the strings. Since the instrument does not have a sufficient sound body, the sound cannot develop loudly. Normally, the violin can no longer be heard in the next room with the doors closed.
