Moog Theremini

The Theremini is a reinterpretation of one of the oldest electronic musical instruments and Bob Moog's first love - the theremin.

Its design combines the experience of playing an instrument you don’t actually touch with a powerful sound engine derived from Moog’s award-winning Animoog synthesizer. The Theremini guarantees instant success for anyone, regardless of experience or physical ability, while offering new possibilities to experiment with music, education, and gesture control.

Assistive Pitch Correction

The assistive pitch correction lets the player set the difficulty level themselves. When activated, the Theremini plays the notes in the scale perfectly, making it impossible to hit wrong notes. Reducing pitch correction allows for more expressive control over pitch. Turning it off makes the Theremini behave like a traditional theremin.

Built-In Tuner

A built-in tuner displays each played note in real time and shows how accurately the pitch was hit. This helps improve playing position and can also be used to teach younger players about pitch and scales.

Load and Save Presets

The Theremini’s preset section lets you choose from 32 wave- or wavetable-based presets, save a selected scale, set or load a specific playing range, and adjust settings for the built-in stereo delay and more.

Built-In Speaker

A compact speaker is embedded in the top, perfect for private practice or quick setup. It’s also possible to connect headphones via the front-panel headphone output for silent practice.

Connectivity

For live performances and gesture control, the back of the Theremini features a stereo line output, a pitch CV output with adjustable range, and a mini-USB port for MIDI connectivity to the free Theremini Mac/Windows software or the Theremini iPad editor.
