Elixir strings in Light (.012 .016 .024 .032 .042 .053) are my favorite strings for the acoustic guitar. I like to try out other string manufacturers in between (e.g. Santa Cruz, who also convinced me, or Ernie Ball), but always like to return to Elixir.

I use the strings on an Ovation, sound and playability are top. Even the "buzz" when sliding keeps within limits. They still sound good even after several weeks. This was not the case with the factory strings of my Ovation (d'addario), which sounded good at the beginning, but after a short playing time quite dull. With me, the Elixir's at a daily use of about 1 hour a day but also came after 2 months to their limits and the coated strings (especially G-string) showed first signs of dissolution. Nevertheless, for me the very first choice!
