Classic Sound with Modern Precision!
The Yamaha FG5 from the legendary Red Label series marries the characterful acoustic-guitar sound of the 1960s with modern build quality and stage-ready reliability. This all-solid dreadnought acoustic delivers a powerful, projecting tone, excellent dynamics and high-quality craftsmanship made in Japan. Whether strumming, flatpicking or songwriting, this acoustic guitar consistently produces a warm, balanced and inspiring sound.
All-Solid Tonewood Combination
The solid Sitka spruce top provides brilliant highs and a quick response, while the back and sides of solid mahogany deliver warm mids and a punchy low end. This classic tonewood pairing is renowned for its versatility and is ideal for singer-songwriters, folk, rock and pop. The scalloped bracing construction further supports an open sound with deep bass and rich overtones.
A.R.E. for a Mature Tone
Yamaha's Acoustic Resonance Enhancement treatment gives the wood tonal characteristics you normally only find in instruments that have been played for decades. The result is an especially resonant tone with long sustain and natural warmth — right from the first note.
Premium Appointments and Playing Comfort
Ebony fretboard, bridge and bridge pins, a bone nut and a bone saddle ensure precise intonation and optimal vibration transfer. The high-gloss finish emphasizes the classic look and protects the instrument for years. Thanks to the ergonomic neck profile, the Yamaha FG5 offers comfortable playability across the entire fretboard.
