The Martin D-10E Retro Sapele offers the same powerful projection as its dreadnought siblings, but with a sapele body that alters the tonal character. This dreadnought with a solid sapele top, back, and sides is ideal for players seeking a guitar with warm mids, strong bass, and a focused, balanced tone that doesn’t overpower.
The tonal qualities of sapele give this model a distinctive personality. Its high density and stiffness produce a clear, punchy sound with bright highs and warm, earthy mids. Over time, sapele grows warmer and delivers improved bass response, giving the guitar a mature, well-broken-in quality. Combined with the arched X-bracing, this makes the D-10E Retro Sapele versatile enough for heavy strumming, flatpicking, or fingerstyle.
