Gibson J-45 60s Original - Legendary Acoustic Tone With 60s Character!
Since its introduction in 1942, the Gibson J-45 has ranked among the most iconic steel-string guitars ever made. Not without reason it earned the nickname "The Workhorse": its distinctive tone and versatility have made it a staple on stages and in studios for generations. The J-45 60s Original Fixed Bridge carries on that tradition, combining the classic round-shoulder dreadnought shape with authentic 1960s design elements.
Traditional Tone and Comfortable Playability
The combination of a solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides delivers the familiar, lively J-45 voice with balanced mids and natural dynamics. The mahogany neck with a comfortable round profile and a 628.7 mm scale length fits nicely in the hand. Its traditional dovetail joint glued with hot hide glue supports excellent resonance transfer. A rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl dots completes the playing feel.
Natural Acoustic Sound, Amplified
For stage use the J-45 comes fitted with the active Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. Two lightweight sensors on the inner bridge plate capture the instrument's vibrations and reproduce its natural tone with high detail. Volume and tone controls discreetly mounted in the soundhole let you shape the amplified sound easily.
Classic Design Down to the Details
The large 60s-style pickguard and the glossy nitrocellulose finish emphasize the vintage character. The fixed belly-up rosewood bridge with a bone saddle and Grover Strap tuners ensure reliable performance. A matching Gibson hard shell case is included.
