Delivery was on time and still on time before the birthday. Set up was very fast. The connector for the pedals, however, seems a bit lommelig and individual cable wires are visible at the connector, but works fine. I had initially ordered the set without stool, headphones and school (booklet, DVD) and that can reorder after delivery at the differential amount, thanks for that was uncomplicated and great.

It was absolutely not promised too much. The piano makes visually what her (komlett with undercarriage + pedals). One may not even cover it. My daughter is thrilled with the piano. Unfortunately, it was delivered only with an English manual. On request, however, I received promptly a download link for the German manual. However, cost my tuner ink + paper (56 A4 pages).
My daughter has been learning the piano for 3/4 of a year. So far she had to go to grandma to practice or she used my keybord at home. However, this lacks the hammer technique and the dynamic touch. On the other hand, a keybord does not have 88 keys.

But about the SP 250 BK itself. I have compared many pianos. Brand pianos are by far not as extensive in the equipment. The sound is also convincing. No comparison with the Keybord in our house. The hammer mechanism works excellently. The piano teacher has already tested it. He owns a much more expensive pure electric piano with much less features. He said that the touch and hammer action on his unit are no better.

After figuring out how to turn off the velocity (touch), I rarely play on the keybord anymore. Since the velocity requires you to bang hard on the keys to make loud sounds, I didn't like the device for organ playing (touch on OFF and the electric piano plays like a keybord). Awesome!!! The sound and instrument variety (over 500 instruments to choose from) is simply unbeatable compared to my Lidl keybord. I prefer the church organ and the accordion when playing. I can't get anything out of the piano tinkling. But please don't tell my daughter!!! Still don't understand why she doesn't learn the keybord better.

I always said learn an instrument that you have at home. A piano is not feasible from the price. But after she told me that she plays an electric piano with her piano teacher, I had the idea to check the internet. The SP 250 BK including undercarriage + 3 pedals then excited me. Firmly attached to the base, the pedals can not slip. The pedals work fortunately also with ice position of the other instruments. Right pedal held down sounds cool with church organ. We have not regretted the purchase. The range of functions is enormous. Often the mobile phone is connected to the piano for music playback. If we connect the surround system from the TV, we have sound like in a concert hall. I would not exchange the SP 250 BK for an acoustic piano again. An acoustic piano has no headphone connection. It is sensitive to high humidity and temperature fluctuations.

Many say that this instrument is sufficient for learning. What kind of instrument should you buy if you are a professional ??? Other instruments don't have more than 88 keys. The variety of the connections is completely sufficient. The sound is convincing. The loudspeakers do not overdrive even at full volume. If you want more, you need a music system. Maybe it wouldn't be wrong if there were connections for separate speakers.

Very advantageous I find also the extensive large display, which directly shows the played notes. All other settings are also clearly visible. The selected instrument is also shown with its name in the display. With just one press of a button, you can switch from any selected instrument directly back to piano.

Maybe you will use some functions of the SP 250 BK rather seldom. But they are already available. You have a lot of music for little money. An acoustic piano, on the other hand, is clunky. It costs thousands of Euros. Except 88 keys and 3 pedals there is nothing on it!!! It's something for rich people or show-offs.
Stinginess is not cool here

Since I needed an inexpensive "third piano" for the basement, I ordered the SP-250 last month to see what was technically possible in this price range.

My assessment after a few days:
"you get, what you pay for"

The Classic Cantabile SP-250 is a product of the Chinese manufacturer Medeli and is sold under various own brands of various online shops.

It is at the lower end of the price scale in the area of "digital pianos with hammer action".
You notice this every second when playing.
Nevertheless, it seems to be one of the best-selling devices in the area of stage pianos.
The motto "greed is cool" is unfortunately not always cool in the area of piano buying, but sometimes fatal.

To the point:

Sound: Note 4

The piano sound meets the expectations of this price range.
A bit unnatural, but probably sufficient for beginners who have never heard another (analogue) piano.

However, the biggest faux pas of the piano is the decay after striking a note.
The struck note simply does not carry. It runs out of breath too quickly.
The volume immediately drops unnaturally fast and after only 7 seconds the sound is completely silenced, even in the bass range.

No comparison to a Yamaha P115, Roland FP-30, Kawai-ES 100 or Korg B1.

Keyboard: Note 4

Feels very sluggish when playing.
Subjectively, the keys only want to spring back to their original position slowly.
Faster repetition is therefore not the strength of this keyboard.
One has somehow the feeling, one plays on an eraser keyboard.
Like the Sinclair ZX Spektrum, the legendary HOME PC.
Intermediates know what I mean.
The many small buttons on the piano also feel the same when pressed, which one could still get over if the keyboard would not also come up with this feeling when playing.

Now the two essential areas of a piano are not really solved satisfactorily with this device.
Basically, this is already the KO criterion (or two) for the purchase, because even if you consider the low price, I unfortunately have to say:
There are better digital pianos in these price regions (more on that at the end).

A layman, for whom it is the first digital piano in his life and who has probably never had anything to do with playing the piano, can of course hardly recognize these points of criticism.

If you don't have high expectations or demands on such an instrument, you can of course not be disappointed.
That's the only way I can explain the good reviews of this instrument here.

For the sake of completeness, I still mention the positive aspects of the piano.

Positive:
Extensive equipment and connections.
Workmanship is on balance in order.
The built-in speakers sound good, especially when you play a few accompaniment rhythms or songs.
It's not the speakers' fault that the piano samples are so bad.

Summary:

Features : + +
Connections : +
Keyboard : - -
Sound : - (piano samples)

Additional Info:
Piano is NOT half-pedal capable.

My advice:
If you spend 70-100€ per month for the piano teacher, so about 1000€ per year, you should not be stingy when buying a piano and take the cheapest piano.
Rather save a month longer or if necessary finance with 0% and put 100€ on top for a piano of the brand manufacturer.

My suggestions for beginners:

Korg B1 for 555€
(incl. bench and headphones)

https://www.kirstein.de/Stagepianos/Korg-B1-BK-Digitalpiano-schwarz-Deluxe-SET.html

Yamaha P45 for 549€

https://www.kirstein.de/Compact-Pianos/Yamaha-P-45B-Stage-Piano-Black-SET-inkl-Homestaender.html

Casio CDP-130 for 469€ !!!
(incl. bench, headphones and piano school)

https://www.kirstein.de/Digitalpianos/Casio-CDP-130-BK-Compact-E-Piano-Deluxe-SET-schwarz-mit-Holzstaender-Bank-Kopfhoerer-und-Schule.html

The most piano you can currently get for under 600€ is a Roland FP-30 (584€ naked), in terms of keyboard and sound.

https://www.kirstein.de/Stagepianos/Roland-FP-30-BK-Stagepiano-schwarz.html

I hope I could make one or the other (parent) think about it.

By the way:
I sent the SP-250 back and bought a Korg B1SP in the set (incl. bench, pedalboard and headphones) for the offer price of 555€ (now again 710€), with which I am now very satisfied.
