The BOSS ME series has been a favorite among live guitarists for over three decades, combining multi-effect power with intuitive controls that let you craft sounds quickly. The ME-90 is the most advanced ME model to date, offering excellent audio quality with 24-bit AD/DA conversion and 32-bit floating-point processing, AIRD amplifier models, IR import, an effects loop, and more. This compact, battery-powered all-in-one processor equipped with premium BOSS sounds lets you easily create your own sound setups for any playing situation.
Fast Sound Creation
The ME-90 features a control surface with numerous knobs and a wide selection of effects, allowing you to build setups and sounds like on a pedalboard—without annoying tape, power distribution, and countless cables. Simply choose an amplifier model or effect type within a category and turn the knobs to find your desired sound. There are 36 preset patches with ready-to-play sounds and 36 user patches to save your own creations.
Flexible Real-Time Control
The ME-90 offers eight smooth and quiet footswitches plus an expression pedal with integrated toe-switch. In memory mode, you can recall complete patch setups via the footswitches to then activate/deactivate individual effect categories of a patch separately in manual mode. The different LED colors on each footswitch let you quickly identify states even in hectic situations. If needed, you can set the LEDs to glow in fixed colors depending on the mode.
Premium BOSS Effects
The ME-90 provides seven effect categories with a vast variety of effects from the flagship GT-1000. Options include overdrives and distortion effects, pitch/mod effects, delays, and top-tier reverbs. You also get eleven pedal FX, a looper, and specialized effects like an acoustic guitar simulation and downtuning. In total, 60 effect types are available. The BOSS Tone Studio lets you expand the selection by over 20 more effects. For external pedals, the ME-90 features a send/return loop, including the ability to save the on/off status in patches and place the loop before or after the amplifier model in the signal chain.
First-Class Amplifier Sounds with AIRD Technology
Besides effects, the ME-90 offers amplifier models from the GT-1000. These simulations are based on our groundbreaking AIRD technology and deliver authentic tube tone with natural response. The eleven built-in amplifier types range from clean combo sounds to powerful high-gain stacks. You’ll find even more variants in the BOSS Tone Studio. Each amplifier includes a specific speaker sound if you want to connect the ME-90 directly to a PA or recording device. Additionally, you can load three custom speaker impulse responses into the unit to tailor the sound to your preferences.
Edit, Customize, Expand
The BOSS Tone Studio for macOS and Windows expands your creative freedom, allowing you to edit sounds and swap amplifier and effect types. You can also save patches, organize them for different gigs, download professional setups via BOSS Tone Central, and share patches with the ME-90 community on BOSS Tone Exchange. The ME-90 supports the optional Bluetooth® Audio MIDI Dual Adapter, enabling you to stream music from a mobile device and wirelessly edit sounds via the dedicated BTS Editor app (iOS/Android).
Lightweight, Rugged, and Roadworthy
The ME-90 is lighter than its predecessor yet maintains the same ruggedness that defines every BOSS device. The expression pedal has been completely redesigned, now allowing even finer parameter control. The ME-90 can be powered by four AA batteries or an optional power supply. A switch on the back lets you adjust the outputs for use with a guitar amplifier or a full-range sound system (e.g., a PA). The USB-C output not only connects to BOSS Tone Studio but also lets you use the ME-90 as an audio interface for your preferred music production software.
