Active 8"subwoofer for bass extension of studio monitors
Due to the frequency-linear playback and usually relatively small bass speakers, studio monitors usually very middle / treble sound, especially compared with the domestic hi-fi system, which are designed to sound more consumer-compatible and self-at neutral EQ setting. In the studio, however, it's different and also quite intentional, a good monitor system is supposed to provide an objective evaluation of the audio material in the first place.
Nevertheless, the need for an enhanced bass response can also be given in the studio, either because the existing near-field monitors have excessive lower frequency limit - usually is at 50-60Hz.
The M8SA separates with an adjustable crossover frequency content of the signal and passes only the filtered signal to the monitors on, what this has considerably reduced and the result that the reproduction right in the middle region is significantly improved.
