Yamaha HS7 Studio Monitor - Welcome to Reality!
Since the 1970s Yamaha's cult reference monitors with the white cone have set the standard across the audio industry for accurate, authentic playback. Other studio monitors may flatter the ear with boosted bass and treble at first listen—but that can lead you seriously wrong when judging a mix. Yamaha's HS models, by contrast, deliver reference sound you can trust for honesty and accuracy throughout the entire mixing process.
Yamaha's speaker engineers combined decades of specialized know-how with deep expertise during development. They applied cutting-edge technology and then refined the product until monitors emerged that rank among the most reliable reference speakers in the audio world. The second generation of the HS series has not only been improved further but also expanded with a new 6.5" model, giving you even more choice for your studio.

Newly Developed Transducers
The HS series features newly developed transducers that deliver remarkably balanced reproduction across a wide frequency range. The responsiveness of the speaker magnets and the magnetic field they generate have been perfected—contributing significantly to flawless, natural-sounding sound conversion. All components, including their raw materials and circuit design, were carefully inspected and optimized to achieve absolutely accurate signal reproduction across the entire audible spectrum.
High-Performance Amplifiers
The amplifiers in the HS series are perfectly matched to each model's transducers. Thanks to the "Bi-Amplified" design, the tweeter and woofer each have their own amplifier. The amps themselves are of outstanding quality and make a major contribution to the monitors' high-resolution sound and linear frequency response.

Low Resonance Through Enclosure Design
A special enclosure design prevents unwanted resonances in the HS series. This allows reproduction precision to be pushed to the limits of what's possible. The cabinets are made from durable MDF with optimal damping properties—ideal for studio monitors. Drawing on Yamaha's more than 100 years of piano-building expertise, the HS engineers used a traditional three-way miter joint. This construction firmly locks the cabinet panels together at the corners, making the units not only very durable but also keeping unwanted resonances under control, which could otherwise negatively affect the overall sound.

Innovative Methods to Minimize Noise
Bass-reflex ports can add punch, but they can also negatively affect the sound. The issue is turbulence at both ends of the port canal, which produces air vibrations that create unwanted noise. Through careful analysis, Yamaha engineers optimized the bass-reflex channel and minimized its tendency to produce turbulence, resulting in noise reduction of up to 6 dB. This lets HS series monitors meet even the strictest and most demanding production requirements.

Controls and Connections
The full-range models in the HS series feature two tone controls that let you adapt the speakers to the acoustic properties and shape of the room boundaries. ROOM CONTROL lets you reduce the boosted bass that inevitably occurs when monitors are placed near walls. HIGH TRIM lets you adjust the high-frequency response. On the input side the full-range speakers are equipped with both TRS and XLR jacks, suitable for balanced and unbalanced connections to everything from keyboards and mixers to audio interfaces.
On the HS8S subwoofer the cutoff frequency of the switchable low-pass filter (HIGH CUT) can be set between 80 and 120 Hz. The high-pass filter on the output (LOW CUT) can also be positioned between 80 and 120 Hz. PHASE allows the phase at the subwoofer output to be inverted. The HS8S subwoofer features XLR outputs (L, R and EXT SUB). Inputs are available in both TRS and XLR formats.
Secure Support for Studio Monitors with the Robust Pronomic SLS-10 Speaker Stand!
The Pronomic speaker stand is adjustable in six steps from 80 cm to 130 cm. To prevent the top section from slipping unintentionally, the stand includes a safety pin. To compensate for uneven floors, the stand's rubber feet can be height-adjusted. Alternatively, the three included spike feet can be used. These spikes provide improved stability on carpets and—due to their smaller contact area—better decoupling of the speakers from floor vibrations.
Flexible Use & Thoughtful Down to the Last Detail
The platform for the speakers is lined with two foam rubber strips. This protects the speaker from scratches and improves isolation from the stand. The speaker plate measures 23 cm x 23 cm. With the secure safety pin, the height-adjustable rubber feet and the optional spike feet, plus the rubberized platform surface, the stand leaves nothing to be desired. Cable clamps are also integrated for better cable management. No tools beyond the supplied hex key are required to assemble the stand.
Absolutely precise imaging, very high resolution & a flat frequency response!

This speaker punishes a bad room massively. It is worthless. You should put a lot of effort into the setup and optimise the room acoustics, only then do they play to their potential. They are very bundled and should not be used for large studios. The highs are clear and almost too sharp, and the bass is a bit too short. Sub should be had. Very defined, very clear. Very precise. Top speakers but be careful if they are suitable for your own use.
The stands that are included here, sinhd junk. They take over every vibration. Well, you buy them probably best without. I would prefer to return the stands.
