High-Quality Components

During the development of the BX5 D3, special attention was paid to premium parts. High-quality components ensure an ultra-wide, linear frequency response with minimal distortion and lowest self-noise. Thanks to its 5" Kevlar woofer (12.7 cm), the BX5 D3 monitor guarantees an extremely long lifespan. Kevlar is especially suitable for speaker membranes due to its strength and temperature resistance.

The tweeter membrane is made of genuine silk, giving it a smooth sound - quite the opposite of many metal membranes in other monitors, which are often of poor quality. To minimize distortion, the tweeter is completely isolated from the rest of the enclosure, ensuring a balanced frequency response up to 22 kHz.

The integrated amplifier operates on a bi-amping concept, amplifying tweeter and woofer separately. Combined with a finely tuned crossover, this guarantees that only frequencies that can be optimally reproduced are sent to the high and low frequency drivers. The low crossover point at 2000 Hz ensures a wide, nearly distortion-free signal output within the critical midrange frequencies.

As a result, the BX5 D3 delivers sound accuracy even with complex sounds across the entire frequency spectrum.

Innovative Enclosure Design

The design of the BX5 D3 enclosure is more than just a box. It is engineered with all its components for excellent sound reproduction - its rounded corners reduce edge reflections and provide optimal sound imaging. The special, computer-calculated bass reflex port on the rear of the monitor was developed to minimize flow noise and resulting distortion, while also extending the low-frequency range.

A completely newly developed custom waveguide around the tweeter provides a wide and accurate sound image free from unwanted dispersion. When monitoring, the ideal central position (the so-called sweet spot) between the two speakers is especially important - this is where stereo imaging is best. The BX5 D3 is equipped with an LED to help you easily find the sweet spot. You are in the optimal listening position when the LEDs shine brightest.

Additionally, the legendary front design of the BX5 D3 - M-Audio's famous "keyhole" design - offers more than just an attractive look: this special screwless design ensures no interference or resonance occurs inside the speaker.

Practical Monitor Stands Included

The Pronomic speaker stand is adjustable in 6 steps from 80 cm to 130 cm in height. To prevent the top from slipping unintentionally, the stand features a safety pin. To compensate for uneven floors, the rubber feet of the stand can be adjusted in height. Alternatively, the three included spike feet can be used. These spikes provide even better stability on carpets and, due to their smaller contact area, higher decoupling of the speakers from floor vibrations.
