Evo Stands For Evolution!

The Alpha 50 Evo features a 1" (25 mm) aluminum tweeter and a 5" (13 cm) woofer with a carbon-fiber cone developed and manufactured by Focal in France. This monitor is distinguished by excellent dynamics and an especially neutral tonal balance. Thanks to the new technologies and features, the Alpha 50 Evo is extremely versatile.

Power & Versatility

The Alpha 50 Evo and Alpha 65 Evo models are specifically designed for music production and general music playback and deliver outstanding acoustic coherence regardless of the listening environment. To further improve playback performance, Focal chose an aluminum tweeter with an inverted dome for wide dispersion and a carbon-fiber cone for the woofer. The cone, made from recycled carbon, is produced exclusively by the French brand in the Saint-Étienne facility and was selected for its neutrality and dynamics. Focal continually refines its product range, drawing on over 40 years of acoustic expertise and innovation. This is underscored by the new large Laminar port, which minimizes distortion.

New Features

Evo stands for evolution. In addition to analog XLR and phono inputs, the Alpha Evo monitors feature a new TRS jack input (6.35 mm), a disableable automatic standby mode, and fittings for wall and ceiling mounting: a truly versatile range (mixing, mastering, DJ, broadcast). In terms of amplification, each speaker uses two Class D amplifiers. Their high current capacity provides maximum control over signal dynamics and allows high volume levels without distortion. Each speaker reproduces even the smallest details in the mix across all music genres.

Design and Cabinet Construction

The monitors have a 15 mm thick MDF enclosure with internal bracing that ensures maximum stability even at high sound pressure levels. A bass-reflex design was chosen for easy acoustic integration even in compact rooms. Aesthetically, the classic cube shape has been replaced by a design with rounded corners. The side panels create a refined, robust, and modern look that contributes to excellent acoustics and a unique, harmonious character across the whole series.

Absorber Plates

The Pronomic ISO-Stand absorber plates are ideal for placing under studio and nearfield monitors. The foam reduces unwanted resonances and vibrations, improving your speakers' sonic performance. Besides lowering structure-borne vibration transfer, the Pronomic wedges optimize sound with their 2-component design. This construction allows positioning studio monitors in five different tilt angles so you can align the monitors perfectly with the listening position.
