With Fusion, SSL introduces a new device category. SSL Fusion represents the ultimate sum of analog signal processing in every respect. Six premium analog tools are available for the stereo mix, which can be used individually, in any combination, or all at once:

• Vintage Drive – a nonlinear saturation circuit for controlled overload with harmonic structures.
• Violet EQ – a two-band shelving filter with four switchable frequencies.
• HF Compressor – with variable threshold and crossover control (3-20 kHz) for added transparency up to a tape saturation effect.
• Stereo Image – for spatial effects in the mono/stereo image transformer.
• A "transformer circuit" that adds more presence to the signal through harmonic components in the low end and subtle phase shifts in the higher frequencies.
• Pressing the HF Compressor IN button for 5 seconds activates the punchy Listen Mic Compressor, perfect for drums and generally powerful compression. In this mode, the crossover becomes a dry/wet control for parallel compression.

The operation is child’s play thanks to the few and consistently analog knobs and switches. A/B comparisons are always possible via the bypass switch. Smart insert options and high-quality craftsmanship round out the positive feature list.
