The SSL UF8 is a professional DAW controller with a unique and innovative feature mix. Up to four devices can be cascaded via USB and used as a 19" unit or desktop controller.

UF8 offers precise navigation with a multifunction master encoder for DAW timeline access, track banking, and mouse wheel emulation. Dual-assigned keys enable quick recall of selected functions as well as solo and mute in Pro Tools and Logic Pro. New CHANNEL and PLUG-IN control functions provide enhanced workflows for those using UF8 with Pro Tools, offering easy access to sends and plug-ins without slowing creativity.

Each UF8 is equipped with 43 freely assignable keys spread across 5 configurable banks, allowing users to configure their most important key combinations and macros for extensive DAW session control. Up to four UF8 units can be connected via the THRU port to form a 32-channel controller, ideal for large post-production or mixing sessions.

UF8 integrates with all major DAWs and includes pre-made templates for Ableton Live, Cubase/Nuendo, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Studio One, LUNA, and Pyramix. Many producers and engineers prefer to split their creative process across multiple DAWs. UF8 is uniquely flexible and supports SSL's "Open DAW Policy" – control 3 different DAWs simultaneously and keep your production and mixdown process flexible.

SSL 360° is the central software application and the heart of UF8. It is a cross-platform app for Mac and Windows. With SSL 360°, you can configure your UF8 for your DAW, customize user keys, save and load profiles, with all changes automatically saved. Additionally, SSL 360° manages software and firmware updates for you.

For perfect setup, each UF8 comes with adjustable feet offering six different tilt angles for individual positioning. To jump straight into the creative production process, software licenses for the SSL Native plug-ins Vocalstrip 2 and Drumstrip are also included.

The UF1 features DAW profiles for Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Studio One, Ableton Live, LUNA, and Pyramix. High-quality transport buttons and a weighted jog/scrub wheel make working pleasant, fast, and efficient. Secondary transport buttons can be assigned to important workflow shortcuts, e.g., Loop On/Off and Click on Track On/Off. Or press the shift key to quickly access DAW automation modes. The motorized premium 100mm SSL fader offers precise control when writing automation and, of course, fine-tuning track volume in recording and mixing sessions.

Direct SSL Plug-In Control!

The two high-resolution displays of the UF1 provide detailed visual feedback on DAW track names, parameters, time display, the SSL Meter plug-in, and 360°-capable channel strips in the SSL plug-in mixer. Control SSL channel strip plug-ins directly from the UF1. The plug-in's EQ curve is shown on the large display and gate/compression activity on the smaller display. The large, stepped encoder enables channel banking, mouse wheel emulation (focus mode), and volume control.

In addition to comprehensive DAW control, every UF1 purchase includes a perpetual license for the SSL Meter plug-in. The meter plug-in is visualized on the large 4.3-inch display and controlled directly from the UF1 surface or the SSL 360° plug-in mixer. The meter plug-in includes essential metering tools such as peak and RMS levels, K-system, stereo balance, phase correlation bar, Lissajous phase scope, 31-band RTA, VU, and PPM metering.
