The Mixcast 4 by Tascam

It handles all audio processes and workflows needed for live streaming, events, podcasts, and other applications. For a perfect mix, the Auto-Mixer function can automatically set levels to optimal values and prioritize microphones.

Thanks to the 12.7 cm color touchscreen, you can intuitively navigate the well-structured menu and make desired adjustments in just a few steps.

The Mixcast 4 sound pads also enable simple, precisely timed voice effects like pitch shifting, reverb, and others to make live streams and recordings more engaging and entertaining.

Tascam Podcast Editor for Post-Production and Control

The handy and easy-to-use Tascam Podcast Editor lets you edit audio content, arm tracks, and assign and configure sound effects and background music to the sound pads.

No expert DAW knowledge is required, as the podcast editor’s intuitive graphics allow any user to easily record audio with the Mixcast 4. The Tascam Podcast Editor was specially developed for Mixcast 4 and is available for both computers and mobile devices.

Condenser Microphone for Studio Recordings

The new Pronomic CM-22 is a professional large-diaphragm microphone ideally suited for demanding studio applications. The FET technology (field-effect transistor) used provides high-quality signal transmission on a fully analog basis, delivering a silky warm sound and making it the first choice in the studio for recording vocals and acoustic instruments such as guitar, strings, or drums. The gold-coated 1.25" diaphragm and FET preamp ensure a balanced, wide frequency range with low self-noise, and the cardioid polar pattern stable across the entire frequency range makes the CM-22 a true all-rounder for numerous applications. The CM-22 comes with a high-quality microphone shock mount (5/8" thread) and a carrying case.

Comfortable Stereo Headphones

The KH-238 delivers a full, balanced sound with rich bass reproduction and clear highs. It offers plenty of volume yet clean and precise stereo imaging. The softly padded, wide headband is length-adjustable with 12 steps per side for an optimal fit. For even more comfort, the ear cups are mounted on two axes for rotation. The thick, soft padding of the circumaural cups also provides good external noise isolation. The integrated volume control on the cable is always at hand, simplifying use with a PC or mp3 player. The 3.5 mm stereo jack plug ensures excellent transmission quality, and a 6.3 mm stereo jack adapter is also included.

Microphone Arm

Made entirely of metal, the McGrey microphone arm offers stable handling at a reasonable price. The arm fits into the robust desk clamp and can be secured against twisting. The foam rubber insert in the clamp protects the desk surface from unsightly scratches. Four springs reliably hold your microphone in place while allowing individual adjustments. This ensures consistent voice quality and full flexibility in microphone positioning. The 3/8" thread fits all common microphone clips and shock mounts; a reducer thread and a mic clip are included for immediate use.

XLR Cable

Only oxygen-free copper is used for the Stage Pro-Line cables, ensuring durable, consistent quality and corrosion protection. The connectors are hand-soldered and feature strain relief with clamping sleeves, so solder joints are free from mechanical stress. A high-density copper shield effectively protects the audio signal from impact noise and electromagnetic interference, such as from power supplies and power cables. This guarantees low conductor capacitance and crystal-clear audio transmission.

Together with the Tascam Podcast Editor software, you get a complete package including waveform editing and multitrack recording for all steps from pre-production to completion!

A super set, especially for those starting out in podcasting. The Mixcast 4 has a high-quality appearance, is intuitive to use and the technical result is of very good quality. The assignment of the pads is simple and the integration of telephone calls works perfectly. After just under 2 weeks, my conclusion is entirely positive.
The accessories cannot be faulted for the price range, they do what they are supposed to.
All in all, a package worth recommending at a reasonable price.
