The Zoom R12 was designed for musicians who live to create music and want the freedom to make music wherever they are. Thanks to its compact and portable design, you can record, edit, and mix songs without a computer. The R12’s full-color LCD touchscreen lets you easily cut, copy, loop, and edit tracks.
With 4 AA batteries, the Zoom R12 runs for up to 5 hours—so you can take your production anywhere. Alternatively, you can power the R12 with the optional AD-17 power adapter or a USB battery pack.
Impressive Sound
The Zoom R12 features ultra-clean preamps you’ll love. With two XLR/TRS inputs and eight audio tracks, the R12 is perfect for recording demos up to release-ready songs.
The R12 offers a send effect channel for reverb, chorus, and delay with its own effect return fader. For advanced sounds, presets and effects from Zoom Guitar Lab are available. Additionally, each R12 channel has pan and a 3-band EQ, with channels 1 and 2 also featuring a compressor.
Playback and Play Along
Use Sequence Play to create a playlist of your projects. Then use them as backing tracks whether you want to perform live or rehearse a set.
Add extra audio samples by importing files via microSD card or USB flash drive into your R12.
It All Starts with a Groove
With 150 built-in drum loops covering various patterns and genres, the R12 offers a versatile rhythm section for every project. Activate the fully configurable click track at the press of a button. In the “Click Balance” section, you can blend the metronome with audio playback and route it to your headphones and/or main outputs.
Plenty of Connections!
Connect microphones, instruments, or line devices like keyboards, mixers, and more. Input 1 on the R12 has a Hi-Z switch for direct guitar connection to the recorder. Both R12 inputs can supply 48 V phantom power for condenser microphones. The R12 features a stereo mini-jack for headphones plus separate 6.3 mm monitor outputs.
Interface & User Interface
Use the R12 as a stereo audio interface via USB-C for your favorite DAW or streaming platform. When used as a control surface, you can easily operate your software during production via transport controls and faders.
Built-In Synth Sounds
The R12 includes 18 FM synth instruments that you can play via a USB-C connected MIDI keyboard or program via the touchscreen.
