The Zoom R12 was designed for musicians who live to create music and crave the freedom to make music wherever they are. Thanks to its compact and portable design, you can record, edit, and mix songs without a computer. Using the R12’s full-color LCD touchscreen, you can easily cut, copy, loop, and edit tracks.
Powered by 4 AA batteries, the Zoom R12 runs up to 5 hours—so you can take your production anywhere. Alternatively, you can power the R12 with the optional AD-17 power supply or a USB battery pack.
Impressive Sound
The Zoom R12 features ultra-clean preamps you’ll love. With two XLR/TRS inputs and eight audio tracks, the R12 is perfect for recording demos up to release-ready songs.
The R12 offers a send effect channel for reverb, chorus, and delay with its own effect return fader. For sophisticated sounds, presets and effects from the Zoom Guitar Lab are available. Additionally, each R12 channel has pan and a 3-band EQ, with channels 1 and 2 also featuring a compressor.
Playback and Play Along
Sequence Play lets you create a playlist of your projects. You can then use them as backing tracks whether performing live or rehearsing a set.
Add extra audio samples by importing files via a microSD card or USB flash drive into your R12.
Everything Starts with a Groove
With 150 built-in drum loops covering a wide range of patterns and genres, the R12 offers a versatile rhythm section for any project. Activate the fully configurable click track at the push of a button. In the "Click Balance" section, you can mix the metronome with audio playback and route it to your headphones and/or main outputs.
Plenty of Connections!
Connect microphones, instruments, or line devices like keyboards, mixers, and more. Input 1 on the R12 features a Hi-Z switch for direct guitar connection to the recorder. Both inputs can supply 48 V phantom power for condenser microphones. The R12 has a stereo mini jack for headphones plus separate 6.3 mm monitor outputs.
Interface & Control Surface
Use the R12 as a stereo audio interface via USB-C for your preferred DAW or streaming platform. When used as a control surface, you can easily control your software during production via transport functions and faders.
Built-In Synth Sounds
The R12 integrates 18 FM synth instruments that you can play via a USB-C connected MIDI keyboard or program via the touchscreen.
Comfortable Stereo Headphones
The KH-238 delivers full, balanced sound with rich bass and clear highs. It offers plenty of volume while maintaining clean and precise stereo imaging. The softly padded, wide headband is length-adjustable with 12 steps per side for a perfect fit. For extra comfort, the ear cups rotate on two axes. The thick, soft padding of the circumaural cups also provides good external noise isolation. The volume control integrated into the cable is always within reach, simplifying use with PCs or mp3 players. The 3.5 mm stereo jack offers excellent transmission quality, and a 6.3 mm stereo adapter is included.
