Very bass-heavy, and a little too strong in the range 100-200Hz (these frequencies I had to adjust down a bit). In the very deep sub range 40 Hz and lower they torture then but something. Unfortunately from 200Hz on hardly audible frequencies. So they are really only suitable in the pure subwoofer range. As a support to have even more subwoofer power they are suitable all times. Small drawback: at high power they start to buzz slightly, but you can really only hear that if you stand directly behind them. From the front you get nothing with it ;)

In short: Class product, mediocre workmanship at an ingenious price, they should be tuned by EQ to the respective system, linear they seem somewhat unbalanced.

I ordered a pair of these speakers and delivery was fast, within 5 days. I will say that they really are a quality speaker. They have speakon and 1/4 in jack outputs, which is really convenient. I have to say that they sound really good and produce a solid bass, which is mellow and a pleasure to listen to.
I would recommended these speakers to anyone looking for quality at a reasonable price.

I was looking for a passive 15-inch subwoofer with a built-in crossover. Apparently, that’s kind of out of style, because there were hardly any available online. But I didn’t want to install a bunch of fancy DSP bells and whistles. That’s because I also rent out the party venue where the system is installed, and too many buttons aren’t a good idea.

The simplest setup was a source player, mixer, power amp, and then straight into the sub—one that has an internal filter and only passes frequencies just above 120 Hz to the top speakers.
When I found the McGrey PAS-115 bundle at Kirstein for under 400 euros, I was skeptical at first. There’s no way something like that could be any good for that price.

So I spent another 5 hours searching online. Another vendor had a 12-inch and an 18-inch model. The 18-inch was too big and didn’t fit in the designated corner. I ordered the 12-inch, tested it, and sent it back. The 12-inch didn’t have the deep bass I was hoping for. It was pretty obvious, but it was worth a try. The rest of the system came from the same vendor.

Then I ended up back at Kirstein and, to be completely honest, ordered the MC Grey subs simply because there were no other options. If they weren’t any good, I’d just send them back.

They arrived two days later and were installed. By the way, the speakers are powered by a 700-watt amplifier in an 80-square-meter room.
And when I say “powered,” I really mean it. Once everything was hooked up, I connected my phone via Bluetooth, opened Spotify, found an Eminem track, and cranked it up.

I was immediately blown away—endless bass that hit you in the gut. And that was even at low volume. Then I wanted to know where the limit was. Phone at full volume, mixer turned all the way up.
It was deafening, but everything was still crystal clear. Then I cranked up the gain until I felt like the pictures were falling off the walls. The speakers didn’t even flinch. They just kept playing, no problem.
It was insane. I didn’t hear any rattling, clattering, or distortion of any kind. It was just awesome. And I’m really a stickler when it comes to bad sound.

The subs have been through four parties now. Everyone came up to me afterward and said, “Did you get new speakers? It sounds really awesome!”
I was there every time. We played every genre except classical music. Even the hardest Scooter techno crap… came across totally smooth, even at ear-splitting volumes. I always checked the next day to make sure everything was still in one piece. It was unimaginable to me, but I was proven wrong.

Bottom line:
Sure, they’re wooden boxes. Everything’s very well-made, but they’re still just wooden boxes. But if you’re looking for an affordable—almost ridiculously cheap—15-inch sub, you should grab these. I absolutely recommend buying them. I’m completely thrilled, anyway, and I’m already looking forward to the next party.
Oh, one more thing. I don’t even want to know what the 18-inch version is like. I’m guessing you’d need a structural engineer to certify the building’s safety.
