Powerful Stereo Sound in a Slim Design!

For solo artists and small acoustic combos, the key PA requirements are easy transport, quick setup, convincing sound and a discreet look. McGrey's slim column system combines all these advantages in a compact, high-performance package.

Set Up In Seconds

The E-208LAB consists of four components: the subwoofer, two spacer sections and a broadband line-array speaker. These four parts simply plug together, with the signal for the tweeter routed through the spacer sections. The entire setup takes less than a minute!

For One Or More

The column system provides an XLR and a jack input, with input sensitivity selectable via a Mic/Line switch. That gives you the option to run a dynamic microphone and an instrument directly, or to combine multiple signals through a mixer and feed them to the E-208LAB.

Wireless Stereo Sound

The stereo set packs a punch: pair the two column speakers via Bluetooth and the towers deliver true stereo sound! One speaker pairs with and is controlled by a mobile device while passing the left-channel signal to the other box. Please note that with an XLR cable connection via Line Out/Line In both speakers will only reproduce the mono-summed signal.

Flexible Plug-in System

The E-208LAB can be operated without, with one, or with both spacer sections. Whether you're on a raised stage or at the same level as seated or standing audiences, the E-208LAB adapts perfectly to the local conditions.

Independent From Mains Power

The E-208LAB features a permanently installed, rechargeable 7000 mAh lead-acid battery. This independence from mains power is a huge advantage for street musicians and outdoor parties. When the subwoofer is connected to a mains socket, the battery begins charging automatically—no separate charger required. Five LEDs on the rear indicate the current charge level. Depending on volume, battery life is a solid 4 to 8 hours!

Rich Sound

With an effective output of 100 watts (200 watts peak), the 8" subwoofer and the four full-range drivers deliver an absolutely clear and powerful sound experience, producing strong bass, high speech intelligibility and a balanced tonal image. Thanks to the extremely wide dispersion angle, audience members seated to the sides of the speaker also benefit fully. Because of the vertical arrangement of the drivers, sound level decreases much less with distance than with conventional systems, resulting in a very homogeneous sound distribution throughout the room.

Because the small full-range drivers have very low moving mass, they react extremely quickly to incoming signals, which leads to significantly fewer distortions and harmonic distortion of the original sound compared with typical multi-way boxes. Likewise, in the critical frequency range for many instruments—and especially for singing and speaking voices—there is no frequency crossover that would inevitably cause additional coloration and often irregularities in dispersion. As a result, the overall sound is much more natural and pleasant than from common multi-way speakers, which is especially noticeable with voices and acoustic instruments.

Integrated Media Player With Bluetooth

The subwoofer's rear panel houses the system controls and a full media player. It plays music files from USB or SD without issue. Of course, any conventional playback device (e.g. smartphone or laptop) can also be connected via the Aux input. For wireless streaming the E-208LAB also features a Bluetooth receiver. Pairing the system via Bluetooth with a second optional E-208LAB gives you true wireless stereo sound.

Easily Expandable

Whether you plug a microphone directly into the PA or the signal comes from a mixer—use the Line Out to route your signal to additional column systems. Depending on the size of the event, this ensures an even more uniform sound distribution.

Skip the Monitoring

Because the E-208LAB is extremely resistant to feedback, it can easily be placed behind the performers. That eliminates the need for additional monitor speakers and therefore saves space, time, money and weight. And it looks much better, too.
