The Beta 52A is a high-grade dynamic bass drum microphone at the top of its class. It delivers powerful low-end punch with a present kick—without requiring EQ adjustments at the mixer. That makes work easier both live and in the studio.
The adjustable stand adapter with integrated XLR connector makes mounting extremely simple—whether outside or inside a bass drum. The very uniform supercardioid polar pattern rejects unwanted sounds, such as snare, toms, or cymbals, very effectively and increases resistance to feedback. The Beta 52A features an extremely rugged metal construction with a hardened steel grille.
Can the Beta 52A Be Used on Other Instruments?
Yes, especially on low-frequency instruments like bass. It doesn’t matter whether it’s an electric or an acoustic bass.
Sound engineers commonly pair the Beta 52A with the Beta 91A. The Beta 91A is placed inside the drum (for maximum attack), while the Beta 52A is positioned outside the bass drum (for maximum punch).
